On 6th April 2018, the Russian Consul General in Edinburgh Mr Andrey A.Pritsepov visited Dumbarton, where he presented a medal to a WWII Veteran Frederick Conroy, who took part in the Arctic Convoys.
The veteran also received a personalised officer’s wrist watch «VOSTOK» and a set of the commemorative gifts commissioned to mark the 75th anniversary of the first Convoy codenamed Dervish, including a memorable illustrated book published in Russia in English language with support of the Consulate General of Russia in Edinburgh about Arctic Convoys - Cold Seas and Warm Friendships.
