Enemy of the Heart / S.S Arandora StarAt Liverpool's famous Pier Head, between the famous Three Graces and the ferry terminal, there is a small plaque. The plaque reads: "In memory of those who sailed from Liverpool on S.S Arandora Star and who tragically lost their lives when the ship was sunk by torpedo 75 miles north west of Donegal on 2 July 1940." The story of the S.S Arandora Star is now being brought back into focus through a new film created in the city from which it set sail on that fateful journey. Inspired by true events, the film centres around an Italian family living in Liverpool during the outbreak of war and how their lives are thrown into turmoil when Luca's father Gio Cipriani (Mattia Paradiso) is interned as an Enemy Alien and sent aboard the Arandora Star. Filming for Enemy of the Heart has taken place in Liverpool, Wirral and Cheshire and the film is now in the post production stage. It will be launched onto the international festival circuit in September. LINK
