The History of The Royal British Legion and the Vale of Glamorgan County
Formed in 1921:Winston Churchill had been in many talks with Earl Haig about the help that was necessary for the survivors for WW1. There were at that time, many ex-service Organisations up and down the Country, but they were all independent of each other. Haig and Churchill set about amalgamating these organisations into one. On the 1st July 1921, By combining the following: National Association of Discharged Soldiers & Sailors, National Federation of Discharged and Demobilised Soldiers & Sailors.
