BIG BARRY AT WAR WEEKEND — our biggest event of the year featuring many historic military vehicles and a real Spitfire on the platform at Barry Island station! We are a paying our respects to the Merchant Navy for 2013 the year of the convoy. We also have a super steam train for this event in the shape of the Great Western Society's Steam Railmotor train making its first visit to South Wales. An event not to be missed!
THE UNIQUE Edwardian Steam Railmotor will help to take the Barry Tourist Railway back to the glorious to the glorious days of steam at this year’s Barry days of steam for Wartime Weekend (August 31 to September 1). It had been hoped for a Merchant Navy Class Locomotive, but was to heavy for the bridge to Barry Island where the event takes place.
The Barry at War and Barry Tourist Railway also remembers the Year of the Convoy and the British Merchant Navy:
