Anyone that looks in on a regular basis hopefully, will not wonder why I post updates on Ushakov, if any one does not realise it is simply that I have not forgot. The Government said no, many said we earned it, they did. The Government created an Arctic Star - meant to be instead. They accepted it as they had earned it. They still wanted Ushakov as they had earned that also. The Ushakov awards continue to be issued. K
Ushakov Medal presented to the Arctic Convoys Veterans
On 15 July Attaché of the Embassy Oleg Shor presented the Ushakov medals to the Arctic Convoys veterans Mr Donald FIELD, Mr Leslie Laurence ADDIS, Mr Arthur Henry BEVERSTOCK and Mr Donald Frederick BRYANT, who were awarded this military honour by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation for their personal courage and bravery displayed in WWII.
