After concentrating on MN, WW2 and conflicts since etc for what seems to be for ever, WW1 Merchant Marine / Merchant Service is a huge topic and will be taking up most of my time prior to August. Saying that will report on anniversary's this year and there will be many: WW2, Athenia, etc amongst more. K.

For Schools: World War OneThe 'Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve' were seamen from the Merchant Navy who could be called on to help the Royal Navy during a war. Many fishermen were also reservists and so were able to keep fishing while also helping the Navy and the war effort. LINK
