Second World War naval convoy oral history project: Via MNA National. Dear I am working on a project called Keeping Britain Afloat, a partnership between Chatham Historic Dockyard and Legasee, a charity involved in recording and filming oral histories of veterans from all wars. This project involves recruiting and interviewing 50 veterans of Second World War convoys, both Royal and Merchant Navy as well as those involved in the dockyards. The interviews will be filmed and will form the basis of an exhibition at Chatham Historic Dockyard, school learning plans and an on line resource. I have been given your contact details by one of the secretaries of a Royal Naval Association branch. I wondered if it would be possible to put a small article in the newsletter, asking if there are any Second World War veterans who would be willing to take part in the project. If you could let me know if that would be possible and the procedure to follow, I would be very grateful. Many thanks Kind regards Julie Hodgkinson, Oral History Project Manager, Keeping Britain Afloat Telephone: +44 [0]7500 409 650 Website: www.legasee.org.uk Email: julie@legasee.org.uk Address: 14 Printing House Yard, Hackney Road, London, E2 7PR.
