We seek all information on Harold Newman. He was serving on the SS. Warrior and was lost in action 21/04/1917, Some 7 miles from Fratelli Rocks, Tunisia.
WARRIOR, 3,674grt, defensively-armed, 21 April 1917, 7 miles N. from Fratelli Rocks, mined and sunk, 1 life lost
Also, the same required for his brother, Arthur Newman, he was Master of the SS. Peerless which was torpedoed and sunk in 1917 and was taken on board the U-52 and was taken around Ireland and Scotland and eventually ended up in a POW camp in Brandenburg.
Peerless, 3,112grt, defensively-armed, 4 September 1917, 60 miles SW from Bishop Rock, torpedoed without warning and sunk by submarine, 2 lives lost, Master and two gunners prisoners.
