This is a project to record in print the reminiscences of the last generation to serve at sea – and ashore – with the British shipping companies who from the early days of steam until the 1950s, '60s and in some cases into the 70s, traded their vessels to the far corners of the globe carrying all manner of cargoes and passengers.
