My home town of Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan again hoisted and flew the ensign on MN Day. Also has taken some time but: My town of residence Aylesbury: Aylesbury and Buckinghamshire remembered and paid tribute on Merchant Navy Day, Thursday 3rd September 2015, with a short ceremony at 10 AM at lower market square, Ayelsbury saw the red ensign hoisted and flown all day. At noon there was an MN wreath laid at the cenotaph at the top of market square. Been busy, bit worthwhile.

The Red Ensign was hoisted at the old County Hall to honour the country's seafarers:Among the retired Merchant Navy personnel who stood in silence were Roger Taplin, from Little Marlow, who served on the Queen Elizabeth in the 1950s, and Keith Greenway, from Aylesbury, a research officer with the Barry branch of the Merchant Navy Association. Later in the day Keith, who has compiled an archive of Buckinghamshire's Merchant Navy personnel serving in both world wars, laid a wreath to honour seafarers at the war memorial in Market Square, Aylesbury.
