Haunting photographs of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew's struggle to survive against the odds in the big freeze of the Antarctic are set to go on display. The stunning images will be part of an exhibition at London's Royal Geographical Society to open tomorrow, 100 years to the day since the crew's ship Endurance was crushed before sinking beneath the ice. Shackleton and his 28-man crew were left stranded on the thick ice, battered by extreme weather conditions and with none of today's technologies to protect them. LINK
