The Barry Dock Pumping Station was built in the 1880s to provide hydraulic power to the docks at Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. South Wales. In 1913 Barry was the largest coal exporting port in Wales and the Pump house was at the heart of it. But 100 years later it had become a wreck. The Grade II listed Pumphouse is one of the last reminders of Barry Docks’ heydey during the early 20th century. The 42-metre high chimney is now adorned with the name in lights, both Pumphouse and Ty Pwmp. LINK
