Recently had a picture of a gravestone sent to me:
In loving memory of LILLY BLACKETT DIED 3rd June 1923, Aged 60 Years Beloved Wife Of JOHN BUICK SHIPMASTER Of Abroath, Scotland A Brave, Loving and Faithful Companion, She sailed the seas with her husband for 10/18 years Voyaging round the world to Australia and other countries.
“THEY THAT GO DOWN TO THE SEA IN SHIPS
THESE SEE THE WORKS OF THE LORD AND HIS WONDERS IN THE DEEP”.
ALSO: JOHN BUICK DIED 16th DECEMBER 1930 AGED 74
She's buried in the St Woolos cemetery, a large municipal cemetery in Newport. Gwent, South Wales. it was the first municipal cemetery in the UK when it opened. I hope this is suitable post to mention her and ask for all assistance in finding out more. A quick searh found:
