Medal presented to 93-year-old widow of Arctic Convoy hero
THE Royal Navy has presented a proud widow with a medal awarded posthumously to her husband for his service during the gruelling Arctic Convoys. Olive Eves was presented with the Star at a ceremony in HM Naval Base Devonport on behalf of her husband: former Lieutenant Commander Harold Eves, who served in the base. Mrs Eves, who celebrated her 93rd birthday on the day she received the medal, lived in Plymouth before moving to Australia. LINK
