Anyone that looks in on a regular basis hopefully, will not wonder why I post updates on Ushakov, if any one does not realise it is simply that I have not forgot. The Government said no, many said we earned it, they did. The Government created an Arctic Star - meant to be instead. They accepted it as they had earned it. They still wanted Ushakov as they had earned that also. The Ushakov awards continue. K
Ushakov Medal presented to the Arctic Convoys Veterans
On 13 July Attaché of the Embassy Oleg Shor presented the Ushakov medals to the Arctic Convoys veterans Mr Randolph Douglas STEWART, Mr Albert Garnet ROGERS, Mr Charles Herbert TAYLOR, Mr Sydney PRICE, Mr John HITCHEN, Mr Norman WELLS, Mr Thomas Henry COOPER, Mr Walter Jared Jarvis WHETNALL, Mr Theodore Percival James SMITH and Mr Albert Charles DREWRY, who were awarded this military honour by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation for their personal courage and bravery displayed in WWII.
