On 9th January 2017, in the course of the solemn ceremony, held at the Consulate General, the Ushakov Medal and a personalized officer wrist watch “VOSTOK” were presented to Mr Jim Telfer, son of the Veteran Mr James Telfer, who passed away in 2012.
Mr Jim Telfer also received commemorative gifts created on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the first Arctic Convoy (codename Dervish) calling Archangelsk in August of 1941.
The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Edinburgh expresses its sincere gratitude to the History Officer of the National Records of Scotland Mrs Julie Reid and other empathetic persons, who helped to trace Veterans of the Arctic Convoys awarded the Ushakov Medal and their relatives.
