Don't miss this very special opportunity on Sunday 7th May to meet some of the remarkable veterans of the Arctic Convoys - British and RussianWe are honoured to welcome both British and Russian WWII veterans to our festival. We have greeted British Arctic Convoy veterans to our shores a number of times in the past, but this is the first time that we are able to welcome their Russian counterparts. It is hugely significant that it will be the first time Russian veterans will be present at Loch Ewe - the location where convoys departed to Murmansk and Archangel. There will be a rare opportunity to meet these remarkable people and to hear some of them talk. Roy Elwood will be talking about life on board HMS Zambesi; Geoff Shelton will be recounting his memories of the convoys; and Vik Bashford will be introducing a showing of the film 'Hurricanes to Murmansk'.
