Scottish WW2 veterans meet Russian comrades in emotional reunion
The band of World War II brothers got together at an Arctic Convoys memorial to discuss their experience.
8 MAY 2017A band of World War II brothers have met for the first – and possibly last – time. Scots veterans of the deadly Arctic convoys met their Russian comrades at a highly emotional event in Loch Ewe in the Highlands – the spot where war convoys left for Murmansk and Archangel. Geoff and his comrades in the Royal and Merchant Navy kept the Russians in the war, supplying them with everything from weapons to food. Geoff, from Glasgow, who served in the Royal Navy between 1943 and 1947, was a masthead lookout during the convoys. LINK
