Officer’s wrist watch "VOSTOK" and other commemorative gifts presented to the Scottish veteran of the Arctic Convoys Mr Edwin Leadbetter.
On July 12 2017 Consul General of Russia in Edinburgh Andrey A. Pritsepov handed over to a WWII Veteran who took part in the Arctic Convoys Mr Edwin Leadbetter with a personalized officer’s wrist watch "VOSTOK" commissioned to celbrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in World War II as well as a set of the commemorative gifts commissioned last year to mark the 75th anniversary of the first Convoy codenamed Dervish.
Mr Leadbetter shared his memories of serving in the Navy and in taking part in the Arctic Convoys.
This meeting became possible because of the efforts of the representative of a charity organization which supports Scottish veterans – «Fares for free» – Mr David Gibson.
