This year over 10 red ensigns were raised around our city, in addition to the two at our own memorial sites on Mariners Green and the Banks of the River Usk there was one at Newport Civic Centre (raised by our old standard bearer John Vassallo at a ceremony held by the city) we also had one each at the entrance to the Docks and the Seafarers Centre. there were number of social clubs who raised them and this year for the first time, we also had the "Red Duster" flying from the Newport Transporter Bridge - our thanks to all who remembered

My home Town had three Dusters officially flying for MN day this year at Barry / Barry Dock, with plans to take census of all flag poles in the area and next year do better.
Thought we were quick off the mark: Wrong.
