WWII veteran Bernard (Barney) Holehan will be among the returned service people attending the Anzac Day service at Maunu Cemetery.
At aged 93 the former Royal Navy seaman and Whangarei resident has attended many Anzac ceremonies over the years.
Born in Leeds in 1925, Barney emigrated to New Zealand in 1948, arriving at the Poirua Public Works Camp in January 1949 to start a new life.
