Barry's British Legion members lead D-Day anniversary ceremony 12:20pm Friday 12th June 2009
A CEREMONY commemorating the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings took place at the cenotaph outside the Barry Memorial Hall on Saturday (June 6).
Members of the Royal British Legion Wales, Barry Branch were joined by Town Mayor, Cllr Howard Hamilton and Vale Mayor, Cllr Emlyn Williams for the laying of wreaths, paying tribute to those who lost their lives during the Normandy landings.
Branch chairman John Hobbs laid a wreath on behalf of D-Day veterans who were unable to attend.
