6th September 2009 – Merchant Navy Commemorative Service - Merchant Navy Memorial,Tower Hill, London
The annual commemorative service and gathering for all seafarers, their families and supporters, the day starts at 11:00 hrs when the gardens open, and the parade of Merchant Seamen and standards leaves Mark Lane at 12:30 pm, marches along Great Tower Street and into the Gardens, led by the Band of the Royal Marines.
This is a day of celebration and commemoration for all seafarers, after the service many former seamen retire to one of the excellent hostelries nearby, where much reminiscing takes place and old and new friends get together, for more details please contact:
