That this House notes that the 3rd of September was Merchant Navy Day to honour the brave men and women who kept our island nation afloat during both World Wars and mark our dependence on modem day merchant seafarers who are responsible for 95 per cent of the UK's imports; and joins with people across the UK to remember and thank all of those who have served their nation in this way.
