Wednesday 12 June 2019 At 10.30am tomorrow morning (Thursday 13 June), RNLI volunteers and staff across the UK and Ireland will join the French community in remembering the three French rescue crew members who tragically lost their lives last Friday 7 June. RNLI. LINKReport 07/06/19: This afternoon we have heard the tragic news that three of our lifeboat colleagues; members of the French RNLI equivalent - the Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM) have died when their lifeboat capsized as they went to assist a fishing boat in strong winds and rough seas off the beach of Tanchet aux Sables-d'Olonne. Our thoughts and prayers are with the crews families at this time, and to the crews who are searching for a fourth person still missing. Today's loss is a reminder of the dangers of putting to sea.
