The Corona Virus
Here I am, locked down again with loss of liberty, Not in some foreign jail or freighter far at sea, But in our home like millions more with captive company, And biding by a strict routine that`s safe for you and me.
I`ve washed both hands so many times since cleaning out my desk, And slaved hard in the garden on lawns and all the rest, No crosswords filled or papers read - with naps pertaining to horses, Missing the sport where games were played on greens or circular courses.
I`m worried a bit for my wine`s running out, I need my glass of red, Perchance to find a volunteer who shares my feelings of dread, Wholesome is my dry-store list but I must not seem to be rude, But a bottle of this and a bottle of that is surely seen as food!
