'Doon the Watter' - the story of the Waverley, the world's last seagoing paddle steamer. She has returned to steam and moved under her own power for the first time in nearly two years after undergoing a £2.3m extensive refit in Greenock, including 'open-heart surgery' to replace her aged boilers. She departed to undertake sea trials in the upper Firth this week to test all the ship’s systems and new equipment and docked at the Glasgow Science Centre. Though they're yet to take a final decision on whether they will welcome aboard passengers this season. It's fair to say this one has been about in her time... Here's the story of the Waverley. LINK
