06 November 1940 The Western Approaches, the British ship NALON was attacked by an FW200, the crew abandoned ship and were picked up by HMS VISCOUNT. Later in The North Channel OLGA S was attacked unsuccessfully by an unidentified aircraft where all bombs missed the ship. Neutral Shores, Ireland and the Battle of the Atlantic.

The Olga S. was sunk five months later.
Cargo ship Olga S. 2,252grt, (MOS, Dover Navigation Co. Ltd) loaded with a general cargo including aircraft at Liverpool and the Clyde for Freetown sailed independently from Glasgow on the 5th April 1941. The following day, about 63 nautical miles North-West of Co. Donegal, the ship was attacked by a lone German Focke-Wulf 200 Condor aircraft. Strafing the ship with cannon fire and dropping two bombs the ship received one direct hit exploding on number four hold and the ship began to sink immediately. Ordering the ship abandoned two boats were launched and the ship sank after five minutes in position 55’ 48N 09’ 45W with the loss of one crewmember. Two hours later three British Destroyers arrived on scene and the thirty survivors including two injured seamen were picked up by HMS Venerable and landed at Londonderry.
