The 'Friends of Barry History' is a group of Barry based historians, who seek to see the creation of a museum to Barry's heritage in the town.
This aim ties in with the Vale Heritage Coalition's aim of establishing a heritage centre for the Vale in the town.
A recently formed group, we seek to champion the history of the Vale's largest town, we are pro-active and already have our first exhibition booked, and are planning two more.
We are also compiling a historic map of Barry, located for all to see at the 'Copy it' store in Holton Road, Barry. It is hoped to host this online, and produce a series of walking guides to the town during 2011.
Through our work we aim to raise the profile of the history of Barry.
