VIA: Western Approaches HQ - The Battle of the Atlantic Experience "The Worst Journey in the World"This week sees the 80th Anniversary of the first Arctic convoy. Codenamed Operation Dervish, the convoy left Liverpool on 12th August 1941 heading for Arkhangelsk in northern Russia.
