“Very brave Merchant Seamen”
I have received an anonymous letter from a ninety two year old lady: “Dear sir please except the enclosed donation for those very brave Merchant Seamen without whom life as we know it now would never have been. I come from a long line of Men of the Sea”.
The donation was a substantial amount for which we are most grateful and will go towards our on going projects to remember our fallen, also to promote exhibitions promoting the service and sacrifices made.
Our grateful thanks to you for your kind donation that will help us to meet our current projects target figure. Your kindness will aid tribute, assist in raising awareness and help remember them.
The Merchant Navy Association (Wales) Barry Branch need to raise further funds to enable many planned and ongoing projects. We need your help with upcoming events that will both raise awareness and be of benefit to remembrance in Barry and Vale. Any donation would be appreciated and will help us achieve our goals for the immediate and future. All that can support will be publicly acknowledged at our events.
