Merchant Navy Day - 3rd September 2021
A flag raising ceremony was conducted at the Mansion House, Cardiff on Friday the 3rd September to commemorate Merchant Navy Day. The event was hosted by the Lord Mayor of Cardiff Councillor Rod McKerlich and the Lady Mayoress. The flag was raised by Capt. David Kettley with our Standard Bearer Dave Richards, Des Farnham, Byron Jones and Mrs Kettley in attendance. Unfortunately our Chairman Tony Meade was unable to attend as he had been admitted to hospital the previous day. Our thanks go to Elaine Cripps of the Cardiff Council Protocol Office for arranging the event and taking the photographs which will be placed on the Council’s intranet and social media outlets. They will also be added to our web site when I next update it.
