ANNIE
Annie left the other day,
In loving arms she passed away.
With broken hearts we said good-byes,
We held her close, tears in our yes.
For fifteen years and ever true,
Among the happy times we knew.
Her bark would sound a loud alarm,
A warning of impending harm.
The years passed on and took her sight,
She carried on to our delight,
We'd call her name and hold her near,
But soon we found she cold not hear.
We did our best to treat her right,
We miss her barking in the night.
She waits for us around that bend,
It's tough to lose a dear old friend.
