A FERRET AND A HALF DROWNED RAT
It's a dreary day, I'll grant you that, Our home had passed from view. The crew was lost not one survived, Overhead a lone gull flew.
All that survived the fiery blast, Far from land and distant shore. Was a ferret and a half drowned rat, That was all, there was no more.
Out at sea strange things occur, Some survive while others die. Not much left a patch of oil, Neath a sullen wintry sky.
One wonders in an insane world, Whose at fault and whose to blame. Where a ferret and a half drowned rat, Is all that now remain.
