ARMISTICE DAY
The day has come, it has arrived, In humble silence those who died, Come down the gangway, quite the sight, Those merchantmen lost in the fight.
One day each year they come ashore, The Old Red Duster at the fore. They listen with their heads bowed down, The speeches given town to town.
So much they gave, such sacrifice, So much exacted in the price. This day they're with us standing tall, They listen to the bugles call.
They gave their all on burning decks, Manning guns on sinking wrecks. Across the seas they used to roam, Today they're all returning home.
