The SS Mendi Memorial Service 2022 will be taking place at the SS Mendi Memorial, Hollybrook Cemetery, Southampton, Hampshire at 9.30am on Saturday 19th February.

The service and wreath laying will remember the 616 South Africans and 30 crew who lost their lives at sea in South Africa's biggest naval loss in history during World War One.

This morning the SS Mendi Memorial Service took place at Hollybrook Cemetery, Southampton.



Sir Bill Rollo, Vice Chairman of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, laid a wreath to honour and remember the 616 South Africans and 30 crew who lost their lives at sea in South Africa's biggest naval loss in history during World War One.
