Turkish bulk carrier YASA JUPITER was hit by either a Russian air strike or missile off Odessa, Black sea, on Feb 24, while en route from Dnepro-Bugskiy to Constanta Romania. According to Turkish MRCC, the ship sustained damages in cargo hold area, but she remained under way, continues voyage. Crew are, thankfully, safe.

Russian Navy ships, meanwhile, are unfolding attack on a famous Zmeiniy Island (Snake island), just east of Danube estuary. Island is famous for its’ Spetsnaz training base – one of the main navy seals training centers in former Soviet

Russian cargo ship seized in English channel en route to St Petersburg

A Russian cargo ship bound for St. Petersburg has been intercepted in the English Channel.

The 416ft commercial boat is understood to belong to one of the 100 Russian companies which were hit with crippling EU sanctions this week following Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

France confirmed on Saturday morning that sea police had seized the vessel, which was transporting cars from Rouen in the Normandy region to Russia’s St Petersburg.

Captain Veronique Magnin of the French Maritime Prefecture said the ship is ‘strongly suspected of being linked to Russian interests targeted by the sanctions’.

UK orders its ports to block all Russian-linked ships

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain on Monday ordered its ports to block any vessels that are Russian-flagged or believed to be registered, owned or controlled by any person connected with Russia as it ratcheted up the pressure on Moscow.

I am sure I am speaking for all the members of the M.N.A. that we condemn the occupation of the sovereign country of Ukraine and supports, with thoughts and prayers, all seafarers and their families of that nation and all those of other nations who may be affected by the conflict in any way.

Accordingly WOAC (Warlike Operations Committee has issued the following recommendation to operators of ships entered in the UK Chamber of Shipping that trade to the Black Sea that a Warlike Operations Area be declared with immediate effect for all Ukrainian, Russian and International Waters north of 44°North in the Black Sea.
