On this day in 1907, the SS Suevic ran aground on Stag Rock off Lizard Point in Cornwall, putting hundreds of passengers and crew members at risk. The ensuing rescue involving The Lizard, Cadgwith, Coverack and Porthleven stations is the RNLI's biggest rescue to this day.
