Uncertain future for Barry War Museum
As many will already know the future of the Barry War Museum @ Barry Island Station going into 2023 is uncertain. But, in the meantime (2022) we are very much alive and kicking! We are in the midst of local primary school visits and are expecting a pensioners' group soon.
We are open Sundays in July and August. We are planning a Weekend to Remember in September with more school visits in September and October.
Also planning more history talks at the station in the autumn and looking forward to our Tenth Anniversary in November.
All in all, in the present we are a going concern but with an uncertain future.
We are grateful to the support we have received from local people (and we have POSITIVE comments in our Visitors' Books from MANY people from all over the world!) since 2012 and WE believe that we still have a lot to offer going forward.
We would ask the good people of Barry and the Vale and beyond to make that journey over from the mainland to the Island and visit us.
