SHIPWRECKED
I once lived in an up-turned boat, With a shipmate Cooper Rees. Our ship had gone up on the rocks, Left me shaking in the knees.
Now Rees he salvaged all he could, Though he suffered with lumbago. We two made shelter as best we could, On Tierra del Fuego.
The boat we had, all that survived, The sea and sinking ship. Provided us a snug old home, To survive that dreary trip.
We salvaged wood to use as fuel, To build fires and stay warm. We cloaked our boat in canvas sail, So threadbare and well worn.
The weeks wore on, the days passed slow, When a ship passed by our way. They took us home to Rhayader, It was, our salvation day.
