At dawn on the 30th October 1942 a periscope and the outline of a submarine were spotted by an RAF patrol plane in the Eastern Mediterranean. This was to have a vital turning point in cracking the enigma code at Bletchley Park. This film pays tribute to the heroic men of HMS Petard, who fought at sea with incredible bravery and courage, in the process capturing vital Nazi documents and secret codebooks that helped Bletchley to crack the enigma code, and ultimately help win WW2.
