St. Nicholas isn’t just the inspiration behind Santa Claus, he is the patron saint of all sailors and today is his feast day ⚓️
A C4th Christian Bishop, Nicolas came from the maritime city of Myra in Asia Minor and when the ship he was on was nearly destroyed by a terrible storm, it’s said, he rebuked the waves and the storm simply subsided away. This miracle is the reason why even today sailors pray to him for a safe passage through the storms.
