Kinsale Advertiser & What's On In Kinsale
This week has been a very tough week for the fishing community. A dark cloud hangs over Kinsale since the news broke yesterday that Des Hurley had passed away at sea following an accident. We send our sincere condolences to Des’ bereft family, friends, and all the fishing community. There are no words 💔

The Skipper would like to extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the family, crewmates and friends of fisherman Des Hurley who tragically died following an accident at sea yesterday.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
"In the heart of fishing towns, where nearby, the waves crash and roar,
Lies a tale of bravery, of those who venture offshore.
With nets cast wide, they sail into the unknown,
Facing the tempestuous sea, where their fate is sown."
"But amidst the beauty of the ocean's gleaming blue,
Lurks the shadow of loss, a sorrow felt by a few.
When fishermen are lost, their absence deeply felt,
It is a solemn reminder of the dangers with which they've dealt."
"The community gathers, their spirits heavy and low,
As they mourn the brave souls, forever lost below.
Yet through the sadness, a unity does arise,
A bond that strengthens, as tears fill their eyes."
"For in these moments, they're starkly aware,
Of the risks and perils that their fishermen must bear.
They honor their courage, their unwavering might,
And cherish their memories, like stars in the night."
"So let us remember, in the depths of the sea,
The sacrifices made by those who fish so bravely.
And as we pay tribute to their unwavering devotion,
May their spirits guide us to make sense of deep emotion."
