BARRY AT WAR WEEKEND 2012:

Barry at War Group, in partnership with Barry Tourist Railway and the Vale of Glamorgan Council held a ‘Barry Wartime Weekend’ living history and commorative event in Barry, on June 15-17 2012.

The event commemorated the 70th anniversary of US troops coming to the town as part of the build up for the liberation of Europe.

Our friends at Barry at War asked:

Has the MNA (Barry) taped conversations with any of its members ?.

We have bought a few voice recorders as part of the recent Barry Wartime Weekend and these could be made available (perhaps something that Ade P would like to try out) to record their memories. It would go some way to ensure that the MN has it story preserved for future generations.

Will follow up, Seems like a great idea.
