Do you know anyone who has a photograph of the DUMMY FORT that was located on the Tump at Cold Knap, Barry, South Wales during the War ? Just in case you were not aware of this, it was put there to fool the Germans should they come up the Channel. I grew up at the Knap which was my playground until I was 10 years old. There was a Barrage Balloon site at the Baths too.
As I understand it taking photographs of such locations was forbidden during the War, but then that would not have stopped some people. The snag probably was that the average person in those days did not have a camera.

FURTHER TO MY ENQUIRY :
Does anyone have any knowledge of the dummy fort that was built on the Tump during the war to frighten the Germans should they come up the channel in a U-Boat ?
(I can recall thinking about that when I was a child)
During the War we were told to look out for spies etc. There was this old guy, Mr James, a retired engine driver who loved the Knap and walked around it every day. Two of my cousin's Barry Luen and Mary, Jim's daughter went to the police to report him.........
Was convinced he was a spy. Happy days those. Bye for now. Jenny.
