It crowned a magic moment when Her Majesty appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to thundering cheers from the fans massed in The Mall and around the Victoria Memorial.
The Queen returned the salute by thanking those who organised the memorable festivities spanning four dazzling days.
And she said she had been “deeply touched” at seeing millions of Brits have such a terrific time.
