Preparations begin for Battle of the Atlantic weekend:
HMS Edinburgh and HMS Blythe sailed by Canary Wharf and Greenwich on Tuesday as London prepared to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the height of the Battle of the Atlantic.
And the centrepiece for the events in east London will be on Saturday and Sunday when HMS Illustrious will open to visitors at Greenwich Pier.
The 22,000 tonne carrier is due to arrive on Wednesday before the crew throw down the gang-plank at the weekend
