“This is a victory for common sense. We have called for our veterans to receive the Ushakov medal for months. I have been contacted by dozens of veterans and their family supporting our campaign. It has been a real privilege to meet veterans like Llanrumney’s Ivor Beaven and Harold Boudier in Penarth. The only downside is that this didn’t happen sooner so that veterans like Stormy Lovegrove could have lived to receive their medal.”
