The information on the Westminster Russia Forum website at present, shows the medal will be awarded to widows and next-of-kin but their Chairman confirmed this afternoon that it is not being awarded posthumously and agrees with information received from the MoD. LATEST NEWS: 24/8/2013 – The Russian Embassy is working together with British FCO and Medal Office of MOD to ensure that all British veterans of Arctic Convoys would be awarded with Ushakov Medal. The Medal Office is distributing an application form for the Ushakov Medal with a cover letter from the Embassy among those eligible for the Arctic Star. Those recipients who had never been contacted by the Russian Embassy before and who served on at least one convoy to the Soviet territory waters during World War II would need to fill the application form and send it to the Embassy. As soon as the list is complete, it will be sent to Moscow for the consideration of the President of the Russian Federation. After the special decree will be signed by the President, medals will be issued and delivered to London. LINK
