Today Sunday 1/9/13: Reported is that a Merchant Navy Day Service was held at St. Nicholas Church in Liverpool.

A Full house at the Church with representatives from Canada and India and a few other places. Mayors of Liverpool and a few other towns

Followed by a march down to the MN Memorial on the Pier Head and a small service held there". Cpt Kong.

Merchant Navy veterans gathered in Liverpool to remember fallen colleagues:

A service was held at Liverpool Parish Church, Our Lady and St Nicholas – known as the sailors’ church – followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Merchant Navy memorial at the Pier Head yesterday.
